BIOSKETCH
Dr Olufemi O. Oyewole is a Physiotherapist, clinician, and health researcher with over 30 years of clinical, academic and research experience in Nigeria and South Africa. He is currently a Research Fellow in the College of Health Sciences at the University of KwaZulu-Natal. He serves as Head and Deputy Director of Physiotherapy Services at the Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital, Sagamu, Nigeria. He also holds academic appointments at Gerar University of Medical Sciences and Chrisland University, Nigeria.Dr Oyewole holds a PhD and an MSc in Physiotherapy from the University of Ibadan, Nigeria, and a BMR (PT) from Obafemi Awolowo University, Nigeria. His research focuses on neuromusculoskeletal health, with interests in stroke rehabilitation and community reintegration; musculoskeletal and occupational health; health-related quality of life and outcomes research; and health services and knowledge translation in low-resource settings. His work is characterised by interdisciplinary and collaborative approaches to addressing rehabilitation and health-system challenges in African contexts.He has 109 peer-reviewed publications and 16 international conference presentations, with research spanning rehabilitation, health services, musculoskeletal health, disability, quality of life and culturally responsive healthcare. He is particularly interested in generating contextually relevant evidence to strengthen rehabilitation practice, education, and health service delivery in low- and middle-income settings.
