BIOSKETCH
Dr. Lisbeth Nilsson is associated with Health Sciences, Lund University, Lund, Sweden, and Honorary Research Fellow, University of KwaZulu-Natal, Durban, South Africa. She is also an Associate Member of CanChild, McMaster University, Hamilton, Canada. She completed her PhD studies in occupational therapy at Lund University in 2007 and became a specialist in occupational therapy with a focus on cognitive disabilities in 2011. Since 2012, she has been an active member of the Specialist Council at the Swedish organisation for occupational therapists, engaged in the education of OT specialists.In her research she developed the Driving to Learn method and is one of the developers of the ALP-tool (Assessment of Learning Process), now existing in 10 languages. Her teaching focus is the supervision of students writing essays or theses at different levels from bachelor’s to doctoral degrees. Her interests include occupational science, meaningful activities, different degrees of cognitive disabilities (mild to profound), assistive technologies, learning processes (specific and universal), and approaches that facilitate development and growing consciousness about the world.
