June has worked in a variety of settings including academia, consultancy, acute and chronic psychiatric, community and physical fields. She volunteered in the Red Cross Flying Medical Outreach Programme for a number of years on an ad hoc basis, running clinics in underserved areas of KZN, and offering mentoring to young OTs working in underserved areas.

She has developed a special interest in the wheelchair seating of people with mobility impairments, and has published and presented papers on the human rights issues involved with the provision of wheelchairs.

Currently involved in undergraduate teaching, as well as the training of professional and lay people (which includes ad hoc teaching via Telemed), she is empowering professional and lay people to appropriately select wheelchairs and seat clients with disabilities correctly.

On a part time basis is involved with Operation Jumpstart (a grant making organisation) ensuring that mobility impaired people that do not have access to an appropriate wheelchair through other channels in KZN are provided with this vital mobility device.

She is also currently registered for her PhD in the discipline of OT. Researchgate Profile
